Kohl’s surprised us with an early release. Get it here now!
If you’re obsessed with limited edition products as much as I am, you already know the concept of NIKEiD is pretty much as limited as it gets. Pick any shoe, choose your own color and fabric combinations, then run off and floss your 1 of 1 sneaker creation. Yes Nike has blessed us with this pretty amazing creative opportunity, yet sometimes they still maintain control and say things like, “no you can’t have a gray cement swoosh,” or “sorry that overlay can’t be done in nubuck.” Sigh.
Well it’s time to breathe a sigh of relief because for the month of November only, NIKEiD is featuring the AF1 high and low with a glow in the dark option that can be applied to ANY OR ALL parts of the shoe!
Now you can stand out from the crowd in daylight or darkness.
I know you’re thinking you need II purrs, who wears AF1s anymore, and they’re weak (last weak). But the AF1 is an iconic shoe that’s been a staple for many, many years. Before your Jordans, SBs, Air Max’s, Vans, Ronnie Fieg Asics, or Supras, there was the AF1. When they initially dropped, it was one of the most, if not the most technically advanced basketball shoe. Being a fan of the co.jp’s, Eurocans, 90s LEs, and various AF1s over the years, my biggest gripe has always been the uncomfortableness of the XXX year old technology. Fast forward to the XXX anniversary, the white on white, aka the blanco y blanco gets a tech upgrade. Hyperfuse upper with the Lunarlon sole (same Lunarlon foam tech found in Kostons, Lunarglides, Roshes, etc). Decrease in weight…check! Comfier sole…check! Slated to release 12.12.12, copped?

Super excited to post my winning pumpkin for the #CARVECRSVR instagram contest.
The contest was hosted by CRSVR, a premier sneaker boutique with stores on State Street in Santa Barbara and the Cosmopolitan hotel in Las Vegas. Co-owned by the world famous DJ Vice, the store carries many limited edition and exclusive kicks, clothes, and gear for men and women by all the streetwear brands we know and love (i.e. Nike Sportswear, The Hundreds, Supra, and Beats by Dre to name a few).
Can’t wait for my $200 CRSVR gift card AND 3 CRSVR limited edition pocket tees!!!
So grateful for all the love and votes… It really made my halloween killer!
Most of the S&S Collection by Nike X Stussy was released and sold out this October, but my personal favorites of the line are set to drop this Saturday, November 3rd.
Each shoe comes in three unique color ways, and I’m seriously digging all of them. Too bad the smallest size is men’s 7 because the last time I risked it with the Nike X Stussy Court Force Highs a bunch of thick socks just couldn’t help me. Still worth it though.
More about the S&S Collection:
Snow. Sand. Street. Off Mountain Series [OMS] is inspired by every surface. The S&S Collection from Nike and Stüssy combines both brands’ histories of innovation, sub-cultural use beyond tracks, courts and trails, plus over 12 years of pioneering collaborations. This new collection with its unique colorways, light materials and innovating cushioning systems are on point for profiling, posing and conquering horizontal limits rather than vertical ones. We’re still doing our own thang.
Watch out Target, Kohl’s is stepping up its designer collab game with DesigNation, and Narciso Rodriguez is first up to bat! DesigNation sends designers we know and love off to foreign lands to gain inspiration for limited edition collections at more affordable prices.
Narcisco Rodriguez gained his inspiration from Istanbul and produced a collection that easily transitions from work to play. Launching November 7th @ 7am, the line ranges from $30-$150, and will only be available until the racks are empty.
Some of my favorites from the line below:
I personally get really excited when these designer collaborations come around because being obsessed with limited edition stuff doesn’t come cheap.
Entire lookbook and prices here.
p.s. Derek Lam is second up to bat in Spring 2013!
As if we weren’t already excited enough about Target X Neiman Marcus coming holiday season 2012; Target has announced Prabal Gurung as their next designer collaboration scheduled for Spring 2013 (February 10 – March 23). The 80-piece collection will range between $12.99 – $199.99 and will of course be limited edition.
There’s only one teaser pic for the collaboration thus far, but if the rest looks anything like his Spring 2012, Spring 2013, or Resort 2013 collections my wallet will be doomed!

The Maison Martin Margiela X H&M party went off last night in NYC, and now the entire collection with prices available here:
Definitely some very interesting pieces that I’ll admit are not for the faint of heart. Getting excited!
Being limited edition applies to so much more than material things.
This weekend I attended an event hosted by Behind the Hustle at the Nike Montalban in Los Angeles. If you don’t know,
Behind The Hustle™ is a career development project designed by Creative Contraband to help young adults find work in unique industries. Our goal is to bring influencers and executives in these fields to young adults beginning their careers in order to teach, inspire, and hire.
They are basically encouraging and guiding young individuals on how to create their own paths to fulfill their dreams and make a living off of it too! There is nothing more limited than creating your own life experiences (including wins AND failures) to help you attain your goals. I must admit I currently have chosen the path frequently traveled, but I honestly haven’t felt this inspired in a long time and I probably just needed something like this to kick me in the ass.
Please check Behind the Hustle for yourself!
Speaking of young individuals doing what they love and making it, I also had the privilege of attending photographer Ja Tecson‘s first show that same night at Kicks Sole Provider in Brentwood. Some of my shoddy photos of his photos:

get it! (maybe i’m just telling this to myself)
nike just released their fifth collab with undercover gyakusou (literally meaning “running in reverse”), and once again just blew me away.
i usually find myself jealous of men’s collections, but this time around i think the ladies may have the upper hand.
this women’s convertible running jacket with the leaf print is too much for words. i just HAVE TO HAVE IT! the slim fit, colorway, removable sleeves, durable water repellent fabric… OMG! added to cart… done.
not sure if this collection will sell out because some past seasons are on sale now on the nike site, but i know i couldn’t wait. what do you think about the collection?
